Masquers Guild Rules
Conduct
1. Masquers is a place for friends to play together; please show respect for your fellow guild members and players on Chromaggus.
2. Masquers maintain a positive attitude. Selfish, aggressive, or disrespectful behavior will result in dismissal from the guild.
3. Masquers members help each other with quests and instance runs. Unless you’re already occupied, you should aid other guild members who need a group. If you have trouble putting together a group for a task you need to complete, ask the officers for aid in forming one. Members are not required to run low-level characters through instances, but are encouraged to help where possible.
4. Masquers members are expected to obey the rules of the game, as documented by Blizzard. In general, the officers will leave enforcement of Blizzard rules and policies to Blizzard's support staff. However, the officers will take harsh disciplinary action against any member who egregiously exploits game mechanics, or otherwise engages in behaviors prohibited by Blizzard.
5. Masquers, being an elite gaming community, places a large emphasis on individual player skill. Members are expected to demonstrate and uphold a standard of play in-line with our guild motto: Masquers - Guaranteed to Kill Everything. i. All members of a given class must adhere to the skill standards set out by their Class Officer. Class officers may demote or dismiss players who do not adhere to guild or class skill standards. ii. Members who fail to demonstrate knowledge and satisfactory execution of Raid Skills can be denied entry into a raid by the Raid Coordinator. iii. Members who fail to demonstrate knowledge and satisfactory execution of PvP Skills can be denied entry into a PvP group by the PvP Officer.
Resources
6. Masquers members do not charge each other for any crafting or enchanting services. If you need something, just ask a guild mate with the appropriate skills. They may ask you to provide some/all of the materials, but the service must be rendered for free.
7. Masquers are generous. If you have items or materials that another guildy may need, consider giving it to them rather than selling it to someone out of guild. Membership should have its privileges, and your generosity will eventually be returned. Selling items to guildies is unacceptable. At the same time, begging guildies for items or gold is also unacceptable.
8. Masquers maintains a guild bank of materials to be utilized for the common good of the guild. In order to use materials from the bank, you must be a member in good standing, with a history of contributing items and materials to the bank.
Community
9. Masquers communicate with each other using in-game chat channels, TeamSpeak, and our web forums. The use of these communications channels is mandatory. TeamSpeak is used whenever players are in-game; regular reading and posting on the forums is required. This allows the guild to get to know each other and to play at a higher level.
10. Humor and friendly teasing are always appropriate in these places, and profanity is not prohibited, but respectfulness should always be maintained. Abusive or genuinely offensive language is not acceptable (this includes egregiously racist, sexist, and homophobic comments). Also, discussions about politics or religion should not take place on coms or in Guild chat. Please avoid spamming and CAPS in chat and forums, or real shouting while on TS/Vent.
11. Masquers are discouraged from sharing account information with others. This practice is permitted so long as the officers are kept properly informed. Members remain completely responsible for all the actions of their characters, regardless of who is playing them.
12. Masquers listen to and respect the decisions of any officer of the guild. If you have a problem with anything to do with the guild, one of your guild mates, or a dispute with another guild, please bring it up with an officer privately to make him aware of your concerns. The officers are discrete, and will try to assist you as much as possible. The officers can't always resolve your problem in the way you would prefer, but they’ll listen and help you resolve your issues fairly, and as expeditiously as possible.
Recruitment and Rank
13. When recruiting, we always give priority to real life friends and family of our current members. We also look for friendly players who have a good attitude and play well. Even so, we can’t recruit everyone who our guild members like, and we need some classes more than others. Thus, though you might recommend other players for recruitment, the officers might not feel that they’re appropriate for the guild at that time.
14. New Masquers are brought into the guild with a rank of Cadet. New members will remain at this rank indefinitely, at the discretion of the officers. When a Cadet has proven their good attitude and that they can be an asset to the guild in the game, the officers will promote them. Cadets who fail to demonstrate a good attitude or don't fit well within Masquers will be dismissed from the guild.
- Cadet – new recruit to the guild
- Member – player who complies with guild standards, according to class officer
- Member Elite – player whose skill level exceeds that required for their class; generally goes above and beyond what is expected from a member of Masquers.
These points reflect the basic principles of Masquers. We hope all members will agree and abide by them. In the unfortunate and unlikely event of a member violating this code, the guild officers or guild leader will issue a warning and possibly a demotion. The officers also have the discretion to punish behaviour not explicitly prohibited by the rules if they believe a player has violated the spirit of being a good member of Masquers, even though no listed rule was broken. Any transgression that’s sufficiently serious, or continued rules violations, or repeatedly unacceptable behavior, or failure to accept penalties as decided by the officers will result in dismissal from the guild.
